Rotarun Ski Club is again hosting this year’s Wood River Valley Ski Swap on
Saturday, October 22nd at the Community Campus in Hailey. “This year’s event will be much
like last year’s inaugural event,” said Jesse Foster, Rotarun Board President. “It is about
bringing the community together to kick off the ski season with great deals on gear which helps
to sustain winter recreation activities that are so central to the Wood River Valley.”
The general public will be again be able to set up their own equipment and apparel sales
stations outside on the grass for $15 and keep 100% of what they make from their sales. The
$15 fee includes a free general admission. Rotarun’s “Old School” yard sale in the perfect way
for families to team together to sell gear they no longer use while providing others with great
deals on gear that they need.
A dozen local shops specializing in alpine, Nordic and backcountry skis, snowboards, footwear
and eyewear, and apparel will have sales stations inside the Community Campus. Additionally,
more than a dozen community groups and public agencies will have indoor stations to provide
information about their organizations and programs.
New this year, Rotarun will have a Donation Drop-Off Center at Sturto’s Hailey from Saturday,
October 8th through Friday October 21st. Individuals that don’t want to set up and run their own
booth during the swap, or just want to make a donation to Rotarun, can drop off their gear any
time during the day. These donations are tax deductible and help to raise funds for Rotarun’s
affordable skiing and snowboarding programs that especially benefit local youth and families.
This year’s Sensational Silent Auction, which is entirely supported by donations from local
businesses, public agencies and individuals, already includes a Sun Valley Challenger Season
Pass, a Sun Valley 15 Day Pass, a BCRD Nordic Season Pass, a Sun Valley Trekking Winter
Yurt Getaway, Custom Fitted Ski Boots, Dollar Mountain Lift Chair, a Private Dinner Prepared
by Michel Rodigoz and Executive Chef Laurent Loubot, a Gourmet Cooking Class Hosted by
Executive Chef Laurent Loubot, Rossignol Classic Nordic Skis, Fine Dining Packages, Kids
Birthday Party Packages, a Spa-Tacular Basket, Health & Wellness and Personal Care
Packages, Garden, Kitchen and Arts & Crafts Baskets, and much more! Bidding starts on
Saturday, October 8th at Sturtos and continues until 1 pm on the day of the swap.
Public merchandise set up for selling gear on the front lawn is from 8:30 am until 9:30 am on
Saturday, October 22nd. Doors open at 9:30 am. The entrance fee is $3. Kids under age 5 are
